Happy kids smiling after Invisalign treatment

As children grow, so do their smiles. Even with baby teeth, ages 7 to 10 can be an ideal time to begin orthodontic care. This early phase, called Phase 1 treatment, helps orthodontists identify and address developing concerns promptly.

Many kids see great benefits from early orthodontic intervention. It can correct jaw growth and tooth alignment issues early on. While traditional braces have been the standard, we now offer a clear aligner option designed specifically for children — Invisalign First.

About Invisalign® First

Invisalign First works similarly to Invisalign for teens and adults but tailored for smaller, developing teeth. We use custom attachments suited for baby teeth crowns. Treatment usually lasts between 9 and 12 months, and because children’s teeth are generally easier to adjust, results often come faster.

Invisalign First fits seamlessly into your child’s lifestyle — no disruptions for holidays, school events, or sports. Aligners can be removed when needed or worn for added tooth protection during activities.

Benefits of Invisalign® First

  • Gentle and comfortable: no poking wires or brackets to worry about.
  • Addresses a wide range of alignment issues, including crowding, spacing, and narrow arches.
  • Removable design allows for easy brushing and flossing, supporting good oral hygiene habits.
  • No food restrictions since aligners are taken out during meals.

Getting Started With Invisalign® First

Invisalign First lets orthodontists more precisely predict tooth movement, leading to excellent outcomes for younger patients. We recommend starting with a check-up around age 7 to identify early orthodontic needs.

During a complimentary new patient exam, we’ll determine if Invisalign First, an appliance, or partial braces best suit your child’s needs. If no treatment is necessary, we’ll monitor your child’s dental development at no extra charge until treatment is needed.

We’re thrilled to offer Shin Orthodontics families more early treatment options to help children achieve healthy, confident smiles that last a lifetime.
